- Description
- The National Council for Labor and Employment Promotion (CNTP) is a tripartite (government, workers and employers) mechanism for social dialogue and labour coordination within the Peruvian Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE), whose purpose is to discuss and coordinate policies on labour, employment promotion, job training and social protection, and is also responsible for participating in the regulation of minimum wages. Social dialogue is a fundamental component of the European social model. It enables the social partners to contribute, including through agreements, to the development of European social and labour policy. Experts from France, Italy and Spain, mobilized by SOCIEUX+, helped to broaden the social and labour dialogue in Peru to include vulnerable groups so that they could present their demands and needs in the dialogue forums. All of this was systematized in a Methodological Guide and action plan that will enable the country to incorporate this new inclusive paradigm and take a step towards real and effective compliance with Peru's regulatory commitments in this area.
