- Description
- Argentina faces a dual strategic challenge: reducing widespread labour informality — which affects approximately 42% of the workforce — and ensuring the long-term sustainability of a pension system under growing demographic pressure. To strengthen institutional capacity in both domains, SOCIEUX+ mobilised public sector experts from France, Portugal, Finland, Spain, and Brazil for two sequential online training programmes developed and delivered in partnership with the Subsecretary of Social Security (Ministry of Human Capital). The first equipped officials with analytical tools from EU formalisation strategies, focusing on macroeconomic drivers, digital inspection innovations, and social protection incentives for groups most affected by informality, including women and youth. The second provided a comparative analysis of EU and Brazilian pension reforms across parametric changes, automatic adjustment mechanisms, contributivity strengthening, and tools to reduce the gender pension gap. Both activities were delivered through the SOCIEUX+ e-learning platform to ensure broad federal participation across relevant Argentine institutions.
