- Experts from Finland, Lithuania, Romania and the United Kingdom first assessed the competences and analytical tools available to the Scientific Research and Training Center on Labour and Social Problems of Azerbaijan to conduct research and policy advise on social security matters, particularly that of access and inclusion of persons with disabilities. A training of researchers presented indicators for measuring accessibility and inclusion and how state policies respond to the specific needs of persons with disability.

- The Ministry of Public Function, Labour, Administrative Reform and Social Protection of Togo requested SOCIEUX+ support to reshuffle the institutional framework for social dialogue, notably the role of the Conseil National pour le Dialogue social. Deepening the social dialogue is seen as part of an economic development strategy based on greater social cohesion and a fair allocation of the dividends of growth. Experts from Belgium and France have analyzed the current situation and provided methodological recommendations with a view to organising a round table aimed to renew and restart the institutional framework for social dialogue; to this purpose, experts have prepared an orientation note, a proposal of agenda, and supporting documentation.

- Description
- The Ministry of Labour, Public Administration and Social Affairs of Benin wanted to address, with the support of SOCIEUX-mobilized public experts, the challenge of successfully promoting decent employment opportunities among the youth. The French experts mainly provided an assessment of the current policy framework for youth employment promotion, as well as specific recommendations, mostly aimed to operate a reorganization of the Fonds National d’Action Sociale (FNAS) and strengthen the capacity of its staff. FNAS finally adopted the co-constructed strategy and its staff became more familiar with monitoring and evaluation tools applied to initiatives aiming at youth’s employment promotion.

- This action is part of a series of actions in partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Employment Promotion (MTPE) of Peru, in the area of labour and employment. In this circumstance, the MTPE aimed to address the lack of reliable data needed to take informed decision on the labour market. Experts from France and Spain presented EU member states’ labour market information systems. They also helped the partner to review the indicator system for monitoring national employment policies. A significant part of the peers’ interaction was dedicated to the characterization of the Peruvian labor market. The discussions also dealt with informal labor indicators based on administrative records and surveys, underemployment indicators, gender and youth indicators, labor quality assessment, decent work. Lastly, attendants focused on statistical and econometric methods applied to small geographic areas, dealing notably with the use of Big Data and Machine Learning.

- This action is part of a series of actions in partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Employment Promotion (MTPE) of Peru, in the area of labour and employment. In this circumstance, the MTPE aimed to formulate a sectoral plan to promote the ‘green economy’ and ‘green jobs’. Experts from Germany, Italy and the Netherlands shared technical inputs, key-concepts and European and regional good practices with civil officers from the MTPE, other relevant Ministries, and local governments and communities. The main outcome of the action was a better understanding by local partners of the economic, occupational, social and environmental potential of the green economy, including in terms of employment.

- This action is part of a series of actions in partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Employment Promotion (MTPE) of Peru, in the area of labour and employment. In this circumstance, the MTPE aimed to set-up multi-sectoral public policies aimed to boost women’s employment. Experts from France and Spain presented key concepts on gender equality, including international declarations, resolutions and commitments for women’s rights, and looked into the legal national framework and policies. They presented good practices of EU member states, and worked out a basic toolkit that help to mainstream gender issues in employment policies and programs.
