- Description
- The Organic Law on Disabilities and the Labour Code of Ecuador establishes a mandatory quota of labour inclusion of persons with disabilities for the public and private sector with a minimum payroll of 25 workers. The Ministry of Labour of Ecuador, as the governing body of public policies in the labour field, needs to establish synergies between the supply and demand of employment in the country, through the development of innovative regulations that promote and facilitate the hiring of people with disabilities. Spanish experts mobilised by SOCIEUX+ contributed to the elaboration of a Diagnosis to know the degree of inclusion of people with disabilities in the Public Employment Service of the Ministry, and guidelines and recommendations were built to mainstream the disability approach. All of this was complemented with direct training for the institution's workers, especially labour inspectors for the regulation of companies on this topic.
