The National Confederation of Trade Unions of Moldova has hosted the training for trainers on European Union Institutions, the Legislative Process and the Role of Social Partners at the House of Trade Unions in Chisinau. Organized with the EU Facility SOCIEUX+, the event aimed to enhance the capabilities of social partners and deepen their understanding of the EU's legal framework and their role in the legislative process (SOCIEUX+ 2024-18). The Brazilian Ministry of Social Security is holding, with the support of SOCIEUX+, an international seminar to exchange experiences in the use of AI to combat social security fraud. SOCIEUX+ has partnered with the Center for Occupational Health and Safety (OSHC) in Mongolia. Two civil servants from Spain and Czechia have participated in this activity oriented to improve health and safety at work by training OSH specialists on advanced risk assessment and hazard control. SOCIEUX+ participates in an activity with the Confederation of Trade Unions of Montenegro to strengthen the capacities of its members in legislative bargaining and social dialogue, mobilising the former Minister of Social Security and Labour of Lithuania, Monika Navickiene and the Head of collective bargaining unit in the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic. The Guatemalan Social Security Institute (IGSS) is working to extend social protection to previously uncovered groups, with technical support from the EU Facility SOCIEUX+. Experts mobilised include specialists from Spain’s Instituto Nacional de la Seguridad Social (INSS), Treasury, Intervención General, Legal Service of the Social Security Administration, and France’s CNAF. Over two weeks, experts from the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) of Spain and the Pension Centre of Finland worked together with the National Civil Service Office of Guatemala (Onsec) to assess and improve civil pension management, as part of a technical cooperation provided by the EU Facility SOCIEUX+ (2024-11). To continue its efforts to improve the management of public pensions and optimise related processes, Guatemala's National Civil Service Office (ONSEC) held a meeting with experts mobilised by the EU Facility SOCIEUX+. The experts presented the methodology for optimizing organizational processes and began interviews with key ONSEC stakeholders to identify needs and opportunities for improving pension processes (SOCIEUX+ cooperation 2024-11). The European Union Facility SOCIEUX+ was presented at the Europe House in Tirana at the end of January, marking another step in helping Albania meet EU standards. SOCIEUX+ brings European expertise to improve social protection, labor, and employment systems through knowledge exchange, specifically tailored to address Albania’s needs. The EU initiative SOCIEUX+ has deployed a team of experts in Uruguay with the aim of designing, together with the National Employment Directorate (DINAE) of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, a training plan for the country's labour counsellors and intermediaries. The preparation of the National Entrepreneurship Strategy in São Tomé and Príncipe has entered its second phase, focusing on the following pillars: Technology Exchange and Innovation, Access to Finance, Awareness and Networking. The work, which should be completed in June, is supported by the EU through SOCIEUX+, which has mobilised four experts, two from Portugal and two from Cape Verde, for technical cooperation (2023-41). In the framework of the SOCIEUX+ technical cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs, a training on the implementation of health and safety procedures at work at high and low temperatures was held in Belgrade, with the participation of public experts from Czech Republic and Latvia. The Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare of Montenegro has completed the initial phase of a project aimed at improving occupational safety and health (OSH) measures in Montenegro, focusing on temporary or mobile construction sites and the role of coordinators in ensuring compliance, with the support of SOCIEUX+ (cooperation 2023-36).
