Summary report on the impact of COVID-19 on public employment services released

The World Association of Public Employment Services (WAPES), in partnership with the International Labour Organisation, the Inter-American Development Bank and SOCIIEUX+, launched a survey among 80 public employment services (PES) from all regions of the world to exchange experiences in dealing with the crisis triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The summary report of this joint effort is published under the title “PESs are swinging into action  in response to the COVID-19 pandemic”, and structured in four parts:

  • Preventive and economic support measures
  • Measures to maintain PES services
  • Measures to support service organizations
  • Current and foreseeable problems

The report includes a large number of direct quotes from PES respondents, whom the survey partners thank for their contributions and commitment.
