ONSEC and SOCIEUX+ continue technical cooperation on pensions management in Guatemala
To continue its efforts to improve the management of public pensions and optimise related processes, Guatemala's National Civil Service Office (ONSEC) held a meeting with experts mobilised by the EU Facility SOCIEUX+. The experts presented the methodology for optimizing organizational processes and began interviews with key ONSEC stakeholders to identify needs and opportunities for improving pension processes (SOCIEUX+ cooperation 2024-11). European experts collaborate with the National Employment Directorate to strengthen career guidance in Uruguay
The EU initiative SOCIEUX+ has deployed a team of experts in Uruguay with the aim of designing, together with the National Employment Directorate (DINAE) of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, a training plan for the country's labour counsellors and intermediaries. SOCIEUX+ technical cooperation
Labour & Employment
We support countries in their efforts to design and implement labour market strategies and policies, institutional and legal reforms, employment services and vocational training facilities, as well as to encourage decent and inclusive employment opportunities, including:
– Labour dimension: Legal framework, Occupational Safety and Health and working conditions, institutional reforms and practices, active labour market policies, formalization of informal employment, eradication of child labour, decent work, due diligence, social relationships, social dialogue.
– Employment dimension: public employment services, entrepreneurship, jobs creation, vocational guidance and training, LMI and analysis systems, matching labour demand and labour supply, green jobs, employability of vulnerable groups, youth employment, disability, NEETs, gender equity, soft & hard skills, digitalization of services.
Social Protection
We help partners to achieve more equitable, inclusive, efficient and sustainable social protection systems, including:
– Social insurance: Old age benefits, pensions, social and health insurance, insurance against occupational accidents and diseases, unemployment benefits, maternity, familiy and househould benefits, strengthen contributory schemes at country level, extension of coverage incl. through voluntary contributions for informal workers and other uncovered groups, increasing contributions/sustainable financing reforms.
– Social assistance: Guaranteed income schemes, non contributory benefits/transfers, access to basic and other social services, social protection for informal workers and other vulnerable groups, child grants, social pensions, disability grants and disability-inclusive social protection, social protection across the humanitarian-development nexus, sustainable financing, etc.
